Ryan is a creative and articulate advocate who limits his practice to criminal appeals and post-conviction relief including vacation, expungement, and sealing of records.  He has worked exclusively in the criminal defense field since passing the Washington State bar exam in 1998. Ryan has been recognized as a Rising Star lawyer by Law & Politics Magazine.  Ryan has been a speaker at the annual DUI law seminar presented by the Washington Foundation for Criminal Justice (WFCJ).  Ryan has been a judge pro tem for the King County District Court.  He has taken part in some of the most meaningful litigation related to DUI defense and appeals in the past 10 years.

Ryan has represented hundreds of persons accused DUIs, misdemeanors, and felonies.  Ryan also handles appellate cases throughout Washington State. Ryan's current practice focuses on: Vacation, Sealing, and Expungement of Criminal Records; Department of Licensing Administrative hearings and appeals; and criminal trial appeals.

Besides arguing appellate cases in the Superior Courts of King, Pierce, Thurston, and Snohomish Counties, Ryan has argued cases before the Court of Appeals Divisions One and Two, and has argued before the State Supreme Court.  Here are some of his more notable cases:
